life in the wilderness...

I will run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.
- Psalm 119

gayly bedight, a gallant knight
in sunshine and in shadow
riding along, singing a song
In search of El Dorado...
- Edgar Allen Poe

quick updates on my last week:

- Chicago was cool - got to see my pastor-friend Billy, his wife Shin & their baby boy Joshua.
- he took me to Willowcreek's Wed nite believers' service & we got to hear Max Lucado speak - great facility, a message perfect for me

- then in AnnArbor, I got to see my old college buddy Chris Hwang, his wife SooJin and their daughter Olivia and newborn baby boy Ian. She's waay cute!
- I got to see U of Michigan, and like the world's biggest Outdoorsy store - got to hold shotguns & stuff!
- got on the next train at Toledo where I was born; didn't get to see anything, but it was kinda nostalgic anyways

- then here to NY; seeing my sister and some of her friends; SO many awesome things to do here, it was a blessed vacation (if vacations can be called such):
- perfect weather
- ate at Katz' deli - best Pastrami I've ever had (where Harry & Sally had their 'interesting' meal conversation)
- took a Tourbus around the city
- went to Redeemer Pres for church (but Tim Keller didn't speak - argh!)
- saw a Broadway musical "Little Shop of Horrors" w/ Joey Fatone from N'Sync
- it was Restaurant week to my sister got us reservations at a nice Bobby Flay restaurant for only 20 bucks!
- went to a fellowship bible study with a new friend Yuna - someone shared from Amos that was perfect for me; I hope to write more about it sometime
- saw Shakespeare in the Park "Much Ado About Nothing" - Sam Waterston, Jimmy Smits, and other famous actors
- saw the mother of all regular season baseball games at Yankee Stadium - 13 inning game between the Yankees and RedSox; got to see Pedro pitch, Jeter make a crazy dive into the stands, Manny homer, and again, the Red Sox getting jacked in the end. sigh for them

NY has been great fun - even subway'ing around & stuff has been cool. but the coolest part was just hanging out w/ my sister and seeing how happy she is. She LOVES it here and it shows on her face (even her body - all the walking around has helped her lose weight! haha). But yeah, seeing her happy makes me happy and makes this trip all worth it.

Off to Philly then DC!
